Vevox's 2018 Highlights - January to June

Please Note: On 21st March 2019, Meetoo became Vevox

As we look to close out the year, it’s time to reflect on all the good things 2018 has brought us here at Vevox. It's been another busy one with lots of highlights and achievements. Watch our 2018 Vevox Highlights video or read the blog...

January - Bett Award Win

We say it every year, but January feels both a long time ago and only last week all at the same time! We started 2018 on an amazing high by winning the Bett Award for Further and Higher Education Digital Services. This award meant so much to everyone at Vevox as it confirmed that our focus on supporting the education sector with new features and continually welcoming feedback was more than worth it. Some of the team attended the award ceremony compered by John Culshaw and were delighted to pick up 2 trophies, one for our UK office and one for the Finnish office. We didn't get to make an acceptance speech but we wrote one after accepting the award and published it on our blog.

Feb - Oxford adopts Vevox

Continuing the education theme, February saw lecturers at Oxford University adopting Vevox in their lectures. At this time we also established that out of the 24 universities that form The Russell Group, all of them had a lecturer or member(s) of teaching staff using Vevox with their students. Members of this group advise Ofqual and carry out research to ensure that universities continue to make a positive impact socially, culturally and economically through their research and teaching. We look forward to continuing to work with all of the educational institutions that choose to use Vevox in 2019 and beyond. March - 20,000 employees pose questions to CEO in a single meeting

As well as boosting student engagement, Vevox is proving to be exceptionally popular with Internal Communications teams and employees alike. March saw one of our customers host a global meeting for all employees during a period of change for their business. Using Vevox ahead of the main meeting broadcast allowed the communications team to ask employees for their feedback and questions, meaning that the time in the meeting could be spent answering the most popular questions - a great example of an effective and engaging meeting on a global scale. April – Introducing a profanity filter

Using the Vevox App is all about giving people a voice and a safe outlet to share opinions and ideas without fear of judgement. Vevox is used in a huge variety of situations and organisations and we wholeheartedly support the freedom of expression but whether in an educational or professional environment, offensive or rude language is inappropriate and distracting. Based on feedback from users we decided to include an automatic profanity filter to eliminate 900 words and alternate spellings that are deemed unsuitable. Our latest product update in November 2018 also saw the addition of 'manual response filtering' which also allows you to hide words and responses that you do not wish to show to your audience.  For more information see our filtering FAQ guide.

May - 200 TrustPilot reviews

We absolutely love hearing feedback from users and we're not shy in asking, we want to hear EVERYTHING users have to say about their Vevox experience. We use the review platform Trustpilot to collect this feedback and in May we hit the milestone of 200 independent reviews and were rated as the number 1 mobile app. Reading these reviews not only helps us to improve in all areas from development to marketing, but it also helps others to make an honest evaluation of whether Vevox might work well for them. It really makes our day when customers call us 'Rockstars', we're not ashamed to admit we do a little happy dance and then get straight back to work. Read what others have to say about Vevox

June - Huge update to dashboard and apps

Even though winter temperatures are still pretty mild here at Vevox HQ it seems like a lifetime ago that we were basking in the heat wave of the summer. The weather was scorching hot, as was our Summer product update that saw the introduction of 'minimise poll' and presentation view BETA. Relive those long sunny days and read the summer product update blog that was as packed as England's south coast beaches!

And all of that was just in the first six months of 2018! Look out for the final installment of our highlights blog coming soon.
