A positive workplace culture is not something that can be achieved overnight. The irony in the cover photo for this blog is that many organizations believe that there is one key thing to creating a successful and happy work culture. This is not the case. As this video presentation shows, employee engagement is about giving your employees the opportunity to work in an environment that allows them to perform to their best ability and to increase success in the workplace. This approach includes a multitude of things from delivering effective internal communications, employee empowerment, enabling employees to give feedback effectively, staff appreciation and putting the right processes in place. Employee advocacy has shown to be improve overall productivity and collaboration, and as such many organisations are investing in their employees with initiatives and schemes such as internal incentive or referral schemes

"Research indicates that workers have three prime needs: Interesting work, recognition for doing a good job, and being let in on things that are going on in the company". Zig Ziglar, American Author & Speaker

"When people are financially invested, they want a return. When people are emotionally invested, they want to contribute". Simon Sinek, Author & Speaker

Both of the quotes above show the importance of the employee voice and allowing your employees to feel part of the organization. One way that companies choose to enable employees to have their say is to gather feedback, but to gather the most effective, honest, uninhibited feedback, a live and anonymous feedback tool is the preferred solution. This is because it empowers employees and easily allows senior management to uncover insightful, valuable information that they wouldn't otherwise be able to see.

By utilizing a live anoymous voting app for your next meeting, you can increase engagement, participation and promote inclusion throughout your workforce. Delivering company announcements and updates or giving a presentation about company insights or sharing motivational stories might be the key part of the agenda for your next company meeting, but never forget the power of your workforce watching on as they will more than likely want to be involved and offer their own insightful ideas. The image below represents how employees might feel when sitting through a company meeting that is a one-way conversation that is not inclusive.
