Meet the speaker:

Sarah Dunn is a Senior Lecturer in Engineering Education at Newcastle University, where since December 2024 she has also served as Director of Education. In this role, Sarah provides strategic leadership on all aspects of learning, teaching, and the student experience.  In her own teaching, she is committed to fostering an inclusive and constructive learning environment that supports students from a wide range of backgrounds. Sarah is particularly interested in developing innovative approaches to teaching, with recent pedagogical scholarship exploring how the diverse needs of individual learners can be met in large-class settings.  This has included work on flipped classrooms, problem-based learning, and collaboration with colleagues in student wellbeing.  Sarah holds both a PhD in Civil Engineering and an MEng in Civil & Structural Engineering from Newcastle University.
