You may have already heard the news that Meetoo became 'Vevox' as on the 21st March 2019. For some of you this might be fresh news, but if you are an existing Meetoo customer then you should have already received communication from us about the change.
Why have we changed our name?
Since October 2017 the momentum and awareness of the #MeToo movement has continued to grow globally. Despite our similarity in name with #MeToo, for a long time we felt it was unnecessary to change. However, we listened closely to our partners and customers and in recent months received a significant volume of feedback, that whilst they continued to love the product, the name was increasingly causing a distraction and even a barrier to use. For this reason, we came to the decision that now was the right time to change our name.
Another chapter unfolds...
We won’t deny we did not see this one coming and we’ll be sad to see the name go. However, the incredible reaction we have already had from customers, combined with the exciting plans we have for 2019 means the future is looking great. For those of you who may be discovering us for the first time, here’s a recap of our story so far…
Emerging from the Finnish tech hub scene, Vevox has been giving everyone a chance to be counted for over 10 years. Initially used on a Finnish TV show as the first ever mobile phone-based polling tool, it was then adopted to get audience responses for early reality TV series.
But it was the smartphone revolution which unlocked the full potential of the Vevox platform; Firstly, by enabling the market research industry to facilitate a ‘mobile first’ approach, and then replacing audience and student response ‘clicker’ systems. Vevox’s accessibility and patented technologies placed an advanced, robust and secure live polling and Q&A tool in everyone’s pocket.
Award winning and adopted by 1000’s of global corporations and universities, Vevox has established itself as a much-loved, real-time audience engagement app for the workplace and classes. We’re driven by the belief that everyone deserves to be heard.
What happens now?
Just to reassure you, other than changing our name, the apps, dashboard, PowerPoint integration, branding and team that you are used to working with, will all work in exactly the same way.
Whilst the iOS and Android apps have changed to Vevox, the existing Meetoo web app will remain available for the foreseeable future to allow a transition period where required. The new web app is now live at vevox.app. As of 21st March 2019, our website became www.vevox.com and our email addresses now end with ‘@vevox.com’, but don't fret, a redirect is in place for a transition period if you're in the habit of typing Meetoo.com (it's going to take a little while to get used to!)
As part of changing our name we're also in the process of updating as many of our resources as possible, including our social media channels and help site. Thank you for bearing with us whilst we update everything, it's the only downside of producing so much support material – a good problem to have!
We've dedicated an enormous amount of time to checking and testing our pages and links, but if you happen to spot anything that doesn't look quite right then don't hesitate to tell us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
So while we have a new name, our mission remains focussing on creating
THE most loved app out there for audience engagement, driven by the principals of extreme simplicity of use, quality, and the belief that everyone deserves to be heard, every question counts, and that meetings and classes should simply be unmissable.
